I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for your comments on the posts this week. I love knowing what you're looking forward to seeing. Now that we've seen it ALL in person, I feel confident in backing the products we ordered.
Want a little preview?
Okay...... (Lets go in alphabetical order)
7 Gypsies - more fun papers AND alterable trays
Basic Grey - Look for preorders on the newest lines (Curio and Marjolaine ship in October). Wander and Jovial ship in October (along with some of the new Basics items)
Bella Blvd - 6 new lines from Bella. Stephanie, the owner, really outdid herself this time. We took a few classes using their products and we're definitely bella Girls now! Lines ship in August, September and October.
Coredinations Cardstock - More new embossed cardstock is on the way! Graphic 45 now has a matching cardstock line
Cosmo Cricket - Cosmo is one of our favorite lines. I was a little unsure of some of their lines but once I saw them in person, my support of Cosmo continues. Their new lines are ALL adorable. They have some new Tiny Type letters with this release that are clear stickers. Once applied to your project, they look like a rubon.
Crate Paper - you'll see all 3 new lines in stock. Yes, we ordered EXTRA Restoration because we know this one is going to sell out!
Echo Park - Okay, this company is a NEW favorite of ours. These are great papers to work with. They released 3 new lines. 1 Halloween and 2 Christmas. There is a vintage Christmas and a BRIGHT Christmas. True Echo Park Christmas papers.
Fancy Pants - We're excited to announce the return of Fancy Pants to the store! You're going to love the new releases.
Girls Paperie - Toil & Trouble and Tinsel & Twig - Margie did it again! I love this woman!
Glitz Designs - We're also bringing back Glitz Designs! Their 3 new releases are awesome!
Graphic 45 - Yummy new Halloween lines as well as their usual vintage papers in the Steampunk line.
Hambly - look for some fun new stuff from Hambly!
Jenni Bowlin - LOTS of new JBS products will show up in the store this month! and yes, we ordered her new ink pads! (Please let us know if you are interested in any of her other ink products. They are scheduled to ship at the end of August.)
Jillibean Soup - expect all of the new Soup lines on our 'menu' this fall. I wanted to steal the corrugated alphas off the booth wall! And don't get me started on the new canvas stars!
Kaisercraft - We know you all love things to alter so look out for some fun new wood products from Kaiser.
Lily bee - All three new lines from Lily Bee will be here in September!
May Arts - How many ribbon junkies do we have here?
Maya Road - This company needs no introduction or cheerleading. They did it again with this release. More fun chipboard pieces, albums, MISTS and ribbon.
October Afternoon - all I have to say is YUM! The school line has been expanded, a camping line and a vintage family line.
Pink Paislee - The new Parisian Anthology line just begs to be inked, misted, distressed. Lots of fun, fun, fun products in this line!
Prima - another company that needs no build up.....
Punky Sprouts - Okay, the name should tell you everything you need to know about them! Their mini albuns are all made in the US from recycled materials. They are mixed media albums in several cool shapes. Canvas, acrylic, chipboard and corrugated pages make up each of these fun albums. You can make some of the cutest banners with them too!
Tim Holtz - look for more inks, dies and other things from Tim Holtz.
Sassafras Lass - I walked into their booth and saw a wall full of the Sass that I love. The fun colors and patterns are back! Indie Girl is already in the store (we placed a reorder at the show). Mix & Mend is our other favorite!
Scrap Happy - more on this company later. You're going to LOVE this stuff!
Studio Calico - Its no secret that I love SC. They went over and above my expectations with this release. Their veneer pieces have the coolest woodgrain look to them. Its enhanced with the mists. I could have packed myself up in their booth and shipped myself back to their warehouse!
Unity stamps - I made some new friends in this booth. I'm looking forward to my first shipment from Unity
Websters - Lots of Websters will be in the store later this year!
We R Memory Keepers - We've had our eye on this company for a while. Look for some fun new paper lines AND the new Sew Easy products.

Playing with alcohol inks
Hello! This is Sue here, sharing a how-to on using alcohol inks.
I picked up a little tin case from the dollar shop and thought I'd alter it using some alcohol inks. Some of us may be a little apprehensive about using alcohol ink for the first time, but it's really simple. And fun. Let's get going on the mini tutorial.
What you need is a couple of alcohol inks and an ink applicator, and of course your alterable:
Drip a couple of drops of alcohol ink onto the applicator. I used three colours here - Pesto, Raisin and Copper. Make sure the different colours aren't overlapping, otherwise you may end up with a brown mess. :)
Now for the fun part. Simply pounce your applicator on your tin. Don't drag it. Cover up your tin as much or as little as you like. It took just a matter of seconds and I had my tin all inked up. I like the marbled, almost batik look the alcohol ink gave the tin.
Now all that's left is for you to decorate the tin to your heart's desire. And here's my final product, my lovely altered tin:
Have a go at altering something and share your finished product with us on the YSS gallery. And don't forget about the Sketch contest that we have going on right now through to August 15th. More details here.
Have a great scrapping week. :)

Luggage Tags with April
We all love vacation, don't we! And I really love making luggage tags for all our luggage. They are personalized, unique, and most of all, FUN!! I am going to share a simple luggage tag here, using Making Memories' Panorama.
1) Cut out a tag from patterned paper.
2) Adhered some scraps (from the previous projects) on the lower portion of the tag and inked the edges.1) Cut out a tag from patterned paper.
3) Adhered flowers with brad, and a corrugated alpha beside it.
4) Cut out rub-on and applied on the top.
5) Slot the tag into the clear holder, and punched a hole at the upper corner.
6) Finished with ball chain and trims.
I love how fast and easy it is, and at the same time, using up the bits and pieces of scraps just made me very happy!
Hope that you have fun creating the tags, for yourself, or even for friends who love travelling!
Don't forget to enter our sketch contest in THIS POST!

Friday Sketch
It's Friday, so let's get a little sketchy!! Here is one that I made for you all, using Photoshop Elements.
(I adore this program!)
I hope you like it, it has been quite sometime since I have created a sketch!
And here is my layout... I used Graphic 45's A Proper Gentleman and Honey Thickers from my DT box, both which I LOVE.
Complimented by an old beaded necklace of mine, and some Prima goodness, I love how I was able to pretty up the manly collection. These gorgeous papers are in stock now, so go get your hands on them and get scrapping!

Me, oh, Maya!
I have just recently discovered my love for all things chipboard. I will confess that I have many pieces lying around my scrap room, just waiting for me to show them a little creative love.... but until recently, I have done nothing with them. Why, I haven't a clue.
They can be painted, crackled, inked, and distressed. They can be covered in paper, and mod-podged under paper for added detail and dimension. They are incredibly simple, amazing, creative embellishments.
In the Your Scrapbook Stash store I have found many chipboard items that I want, and here are a few of my faves, waiting in my current shopping cart to be purchased.
xx Heidi

Beadtastic Tuesday
Today I am going to show you how to make paper beads. This is definitely not a new trick, but one that you can use over and over again, customizing them for whatever you are creating.
I used two Graphic 45 collections here, A Proper Gentleman and On the Boardwalk. (Both are available in the store now!) First, cut long, skinny triangles - making the widest side the width you would like your bead. I made mine to be about 1 inch wide at the base.
Now you need to roll them up, while gluing them at the same time. This can be done a couple of different ways. The first is to soak them in a half water, half glue, solution. This method will create much thinner beads. The second method is what I have done here...
I used liquid adhesive, somewhat liberally, squirting down the length of the triangle. Then I began rolling the paper, at the widest side, towards the teeny point. As you can see in the picture below, adhesive begins to build up and roll with you, slightly squirting out the sides. You will get a tad sticky, but I have found this is the best method because you can smooth the adhesive over all the paper as you go, eliminating the need for sealing at the end.
When you get to the end, hold tightly for a few seconds. If you have used an adhesive that isn't quick drying, you might have to hold just a bit longer.
These are how my beads turned out...I finished my own with some Maya Mist and Distress Ink.
I hope this was a fun reminder, of an old technique that you can use on some of your future projects! (A few of these beads will be showing up as embellishments on a layout later this month...)

She sent us a little tutorial on how to make a fun page!
Techniques:
1. To make custom flower accents, I cut out two separate scallops from the Prima lace and pinched and adhered them behind each vintage flower.
2. For a richer range of misted color, I layered three different hues of orange spray ink over the mask.

3. I replaced some of the words in my journaling with the Tiny Type alphabet from Cosmo Cricket...I love how each letter is a slightly different size!
4. I pleated crepe paper strips and sandwiched them between the two cardstock backgrounds for some fun dimension.
5. I used a punch to cut out the "You Make Me Happy" title from some of the Cosmo Cricket paper.
