Happy Thanksgiving My Friends

Just a quick note from the Stash reminding you to enjoy this time with your family and reminisce on everything you're thankful for.

I took a break from pictures this weekend. I sat back, relaxed and enjoyed life. This was difficult for me since I tend to try and capture my sons every 'first'. This year was his first Thanksgiving meal. Last year, he had his first few bites of baby food. This year, he used my miniature set of silverware to eat his first turkey and pumpkin pie. A miniature set of silverware that I used as a baby. 30 years ago.

I realized how much he's grown in the last 12 months. Just 365 short days. I'm afraid to blink only to find him heading off to college, getting married or celebrating his childs first holiday.

Today also marks the 10 year anniversary of our first date. Dinner and a movie along with a few games at Dave n' Busters. (Hows that for romance?) We laughed this morning as we looked back at the first scrapbooks. We saw at least one movie a week. We ate chinese food a lot. So you can imagine all of the ticket stubs and fortune cookie fortunes I have glued to pages.

10 years. Thats 1/3rd of my life.

I guess I'm reminiscing a little too much this weekend. I remember being the geeky girl in high school and it seems like it was yesterday. Now, I'm married, I have a son and a house. I have this wonderful business. This was NOT in my 10 year plan.

This leads me to my next project. Ali Edwards creates her amazing December Daily every year and Wendy created this cute 2009 mini book. I love both ideas, so I started another book similar to the December Daily. But its a book about goals for 2009. I'm working on a list of 12 goals for myself. 12 goals for 2009. One for each month. Call it what you want: goals, resolutions......

Okay, I think I'm done reminiscing tonight. I found some cute holiday projects on blogs this week so I'll be posting links this weekend.

Don't forget the sale. Also, anyone that wants the Ali Edwards 'Today You' stamp, it IS sold out. BUT, we will honor the sale price when they are back in stock. Please send an email to admin@yourscrapbookstash.com to hold your set. We expect them to be in stock again within 10 days. Technique Tuesday is aware if our order and will be shipping soon. An email will be sent to you when they are back in.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Mandys Mini Instructions......

We had some people request the instructions for Mandys 'Dates To Remember' Mini.

Here they are! And of course, you can see the visuals in her Gallery. There is a limited supply of the mini books in the store. Don't forget to use your Black Friday code to save 25% off your album and supplies. Enter code TURKEY25 until 11/30 to save 25% off your entire order.

Important Dates Minibook How To
When I got the book I measured it and it was an odd size for me so to make it simple I cut it to measure 5 inches from top to bottom and 5.5 inches side to side.

Starting with the covers
1. Cut Patterned Papers of your choice (I used Collage Press) 5inx5.5in adhere to front cover. Cut a coordinating patterned paper to 4 inx4.5 in. Layer it on an angle on the cover. Cut book binding tape 5inx3/4in adhere to left side of cover(this will cover up a little bit of the previous patterned paper's). Add your title with letter stickers. Embellish with some kind of time symbol or life symbol - I used the clock.

Back Cover

Cut Patterned Papaer 5inx5.5in adhere to back cover. Cut a coordinating Patterned Paper to 5inx3in adhere it to the cover(lots of layering). Cut book binding 5inx1in adhere so that you cover up the layered edges of papers. 0nce all is adhered punch holes into the papers for the book rings. This is really easy just flip over and use original book holes as guides.

These are assembly line directions. If you work better doing it differently by all means do it which ever way works best for you. This tends to be a simpler way for some.

Inside
Cut 12 lined or grid papers to 5inx5.5in. Cut patterned paper or sticker borders to 5inches long or 5.5inches wide depending on which side you use you can make them all the same or mix it up a bit like I did.Starting with your Jan lined/grid pp adhere you border and continue this step for all 12 months. Add your important dates with pen, pencil, stamps, stickers whatever you choose. Again do this for all 12 months. Add your photos of people Birthdays, anniversaries, holidays again whatever you choose or you can go with no photos too.I choose to add 1 embellishment that coordinated with the month(ie. Chipboard, stickers, epoxy). You can add more, again its your own style preference. Doodling around photos is another optional thing. If you're not into doodling maybe a sticker border, frame etc. Now its time to adhere the Important Dates lined/grid paper to the backs of the month pages. Easiest way to do this is put your adhesive on the back of the month page rather then the back of the patterned paper. I stacked my months in order, that way they stay in the correct sequence. Start by adhering Jan dates to the back of the front cover. Continue with Feb on the back side of Jan Calendar page and so on and so on till all 12 have been adhered. Using the Month Calendar side as a guide punch holes into the paper. Assemble the mini. The book rings are the easiest even if you end up with something in the wrong spot its easily fixed.
Have fun and enjoy you Important dates minibook. I know I love mine. I'm sure you will love yours too.

Weekend update

As you can see below, we added a few more things to the sale section. Pink Paislees Pop Fashion and Vintage Moon are on sale. We just received the new Tinsel Town line and our Sweet Cakes order is on its way, along with the reorder of Tinsel Town acrylic stamps.

Don't forget the October Afternoon contest. You can win OA goodies. Here is a snippet of what you can win.

I made my husband take me to see Twilight. He actually liked it. And he's reading the books now. Anyone else see it this weekend? It was our 10 year anniversary. 10 years since our first date. We went to see a movie at the same movie theater we went to on our first date. Dinner and a movie. Just like 10 years ago.

I took some pictures of us with his phone. Just need to upload them so I can scrapbook them. I found a new sketch site that I just *love* and can't wait to share. Next post though.

Pink Paislee on sale

Vintage Moon and Pop Fashion are now on sale! Save 25% off!

What can brown do for you?

Well, Mr. Brown Pants (aka the UPS man) can deliver boxes of goodies. Don't worry, we love the Fedex man just as much around here.

In fact, we should be seeing both of them regularly through the end of the year.

So what did he bring us today? A little bit of everything.....

Restocks on some of our popular items:

Glossy Accents (this sold out fast before!)
Making Memories Paperie Journaling Books - we were getting low so we ordered a few more
Making Memories Paperie Clips and Brads - also getting low
Fancy Pants Acrylic Stamp

NEW
I know this is the part you were waiting for. The NEW stuff. Here it is!

Making Memories Rouge Paperie - the rest of our order from CHAS. MM inadvertantly left out most of our Rouge order.
MM Paperie Alpha Stickers - in all 4 colors. Yes, these were left out as well
Kaisercraft Rhinestones - we've been drooling over these self-adhesive beauties for some time now. They have a better US Distributor now so they are easier to get.
Stickles by Ranger - who doesn't love a little glitter on their projects? Okay, I'm addicted to these little bottles of glitter glue. I find reasons to use them on anything.
Staz-on Ink Pads - for the stampers. We've recently bulked up the stamp section of the store (look for more new stamps coming soon!) and we know you need a decent ink pad.

So today was the last day of the Online Shop Hop. It was a lot of fun. We had a lot of people stop by the store to check us out and even shop. Yeah!

And its time to post the winner of our last Shop Hop drawing.

Post #2 (I need to find a better place to pick these numbers. Random.org doesn't seem so random these days.)

More happy mail

In addition to yesterdays happy mail, today we got our boxes from Sassafras Lass.
With a few of their acrylic stamps, the new Life At the Pole papers and stickers. And a few reorder items from the last 4 paper lines. We were out of a few things from those 4 lines (Woodland Whimsy, Fawn'd of You Too, Hog Heaven and Happy Place).

We've already had orders for this and I just got it in the store. You guys must be stalking the NEW section of the store.

Happy Mail Day

Came home from lunch and found several boxes of goodies at the door.

First - Pink Paislee. Their new holiday line - Tinsel Town and their Pixie Stix. Okay, I'm a glitter/bling freak and its all I can do to stay away from the stuff when I do pages and mini's about my little boy. I'm not into flowers or lace. Give me glitter and crystals ANY day. (This is a hint to some product that will be available in the store soon. hee hee) So when I opened the box and saw the Pixie Stix packages all wrapped up together, I squealed. I'm not a squealer. But when I SAW the tubes of glitter - well, I got excited. My husband thinks I'm crazy. We all are though - right?

Anyway, moving on.....

Cats Life Press.
I love this stamp company. Not only do they have some really cool stamps, their customer service is A-MAZ-ING. They had the order out the very next day. Thats unheard of in the scrapping world! AND they were awesome enough to let me order some of the brand NEW holiday stamps. The images aren't up on their site yet. At least they weren't when I ordered them. So, we have some of their latest release and then some of their very brand new release in stock. All are mounted. I got a mixed review so to be on the safe side, I ordered the mounted stamps. If there is enough people who want these designs unmounted, I will get them in. I can get them within a few days so there is no waiting. and then you can take advantage of the sales and free shipping or whatever promotion we have going on here.

Lastly, Elle's Studio. I regularly profess my love for her tags here on the blog. Well, she did it again. She released a few new designs that are just perfect for the holidays. We stocked more of her Holiday Journaling cards as well as some sold out favorites. So your basic journaling circles are back in stock.

And if you liked the mini album Mandy created with the Elle's Studio Mini Calendar book - I'll be posting a How-To this week. We still have a few of these books in stock so grab them while they're still here!

I'm still entering product into the store so as soon as I finish working, I'll upload some fab pictures so you can all squeal with me!

Don't forget this is the last week for the Online Shop Hop. We will not be participating in the Reindeer Roundup but we have some fantastic things planned for the rest of November and December. Make sure you check the blog weekly or sign up for our newsletter.

October Afternoon Contest - deadline to upload is 11/25. That way we don't have to stress out over Thanksgiving weekend. We'll pick a winner and we can all enjoy turkey. Use any of the October Afternoon lines to create a layout, card or mini album for a chance to win some OA goodies!

And the last giveaway of the Shop Hop ends Saturday. We will draw a winner Sunday to celebrate the last day of the Shop Hop. Post a comment here for a chance to win an Elle's Studio goodie pack. For those who haven't posted yet, think about it. We have a pack worth more than $25 to give away - Thats a lot of tags. AND, Elle sent a few extra samples with our order so guess what? We added those to the pack to make it worth close to $40.00 now. So go post a comment. You can't win if you don't!

Okay, so the newsletter just went out. Didn't get it? Make sure you sign up to receive all of our updates.

And we announced a few things:

1. October Afternoon Contest - use any of the 3 new lines/products to create cards, layouts, mini albums etc for a chance to win some OA goodies. Gallery is open and ready for uploads! You can find the OA goodies in the Stash Store.

2. We had another open spot for a DT member. Someone will not be with us after December so we had to fill the spot. Who better than one of our Finalists? We chose Wendy Kwok. You can see more of her work on her blog (click or see our sidebar) or in her DT Search gallery.

3. A little love from Elle's Studio. And don't forget to post a comment here by Saturday for your chance to win some Elle's goodies. Can't wait? They are available in the store. More holiday tags coming this week!

5. Blog inspiration. So I confess, I'm a blog junkie. I have a list a mile long in my favorites of blogs I frequent. Okay, stalk, is a better word. But I find a lot of inspiration and interesting techniques out there. So what did I find today? Chipboard heaven! Thats right, chipboard being put to good use.
Where?

Fancy Pants
Fancy Pants (again)

Friday Update

Grrrrrr.....
I'm so mad at Fedex right now.
Our October Afternoon shipment was scheduled to be here today and then they fell behind and rescheduled it for Monday delivery. Grrrr.....

Don't they know we MUST have our October Afternoon???

So, I'm placing it in the store on pre-order. You can place your order now and we will ship them out Monday instead of today/Saturday. This is the first time we are doing a pre-order and if this works, we may do them in the future.

I know many of you have been emailing and looking out for the OA stuff so we will make sure you get it.

And its that time of year again! Time to start marking older product down to make room for the new releases. I have so many luscious emails sitting in my 'To Order' folder right now. New releases from Making Memories and a few others. They are releasing some lines before CHA. So that means we need to get rid of a few of the older lines.

And that means a sale. I know you all love a sale. Don't forget, you can use your 15% shophopper discount on top of the sale prices.

Look for these in the sale section now:

Scenic Route
Tinkering Ink
Websters Pages
Creative Imaginations
Glitz Designs
Graphic 45
Rouge de Garance
Jenni Bowlin
American Crafts

And a few others.

Don't forget to post a comment below for a chance to win a Tinkering Ink Becoming Green paper pack. We have one more giveaway after this.

Blog Inspiration For Friday
Just making my blog rounds for the day and noticed that Bell Blvd is going to announce a contest using their papers soon. If you haven't seen these, check out the store. These are going fast!

And KI Memories had a great idea for using the Sheer Delights on their blog.

A hard decision

Picking the new DT member that is......

Okay, so I narrowed it down to 7 girls. Yes, I know. Then I sent their information (blog links, links to gallery etc) to the current DT members and asked them for feedback. I did my best to 'tally' their votes/feedback and then figure in mine.

Not so easy.

So who made the final cut? In no particular order......

Tonya Boone

June Goh

Wendy Kwok

Nancy van den Berg

Crystal Brothers

Liza Yet

Carol Yeo

And the newest DT member is........

June Goh!
Congratulations June!
June joins us from Singapore. We loved her use of bright colors and mixing it up a little. She stamps, she sews and she's not afraid of patterned paper. I love that! June is going to bring some new 'awesomeness' to the team. (Yep, I just made up a new word.) June will be getting her first kit and will be loading up her gallery soon!

Welcome June!

I just want to say that the rest of the people on the list were amazing as well. Different styles but everyone brought something interesting to the table. Like I said, each person got a thumbs up from the Design Team. Thank you all for entering and I hope you stick around!

I'll pick a winner from the comments below tomorrow.
