Stash Fav: Journal Cards

I'm not sure who came up with the concept of journaling cards initially, but I've loved them for years!  Not only the single cards, but sheets of 4x3 cards that you can cut apart.  The possibilities with a 12x12 sheet of these little gems are many.  Of course, it goes without saying that you can cut them out individually and place them onto a layout to journal on, but you can also:
♦Cut into a 1 card x 3 card strip to create an accordion album
♦Make instant card fronts
♦Tags for gift bags
♦Add your own personalization, cut to size and slip into a luggage tag holder...great for back-packs!
♦Attach to a wooden skewer and create a cake topper or plant poke
♦Create a 12x12 collage by adding photos to every other card
♦Frame it or add to a canvas block and embellish
Here's my take on using a card on a canvas block
I used the "Splash" Journal Card and "Big Stripe" by Echo Park

Most companies now include this functional element as part of their paper lines...each little square is its own piece of artwork.  I hope you enjoy these new ideas and try them out!

New Echo Park : For The Record

Hi this is Bente!

I received so many lovely items in my latest kit from Erica. The store is overflowing with gorgeous *must-haves*.One of the collections was the new Echo Park called 'For the Record'.
Beautiful saturated colours and pretty stickersheets. I'll include some pictures of parts of the collection after my layout in this post.
Ok, this is my first lo I created with the kit. I have posted more close ups on my blog if you would like to see them.. You can use the link in the sidebar.
I started with distressing all the edges, then painted some of them and finally used my sewing machine to add some more interest to the project.
The photo is of our boots and how girly they are.

I pleated a piece of green cardstock just randomly and added that below the photo.
The flowers are as you can see *homegrown' ...lol...and a tutor
ial is coming up with those. They are so easy to make th
at of course you do not need a tutorial, but still, I made one.
I even used bakers twine here. That is a design element tha
t can be seen on many pages right now, a real fashion item! Erica has got lots of lovely colours in the store. They come on pretty little spools, and now you even get more on each spool, I think 3 yards actually !

Now please enjoy the photos of this lovely collection, and don't hesitate to check out the store for these and other gorgeous new products!

Happy Shopping!

Stash Faves - Echo Park's Happy Halloween!

This new line, Happy Halloween by Echo Park, is the cutest Halloween paper I have ever seen! The colors are just so fun and vibrant and the designs are perfect for scrapping your little ghosts and ghouls!! Just like their other lines, it includes several sheets of double-sided paper, a sticker sheet of the cutest diecuts, a set of border stickers, and a sticker sheet of 3 alphas.

I made the card below using one of the diecut stickers with some of the border stickers and paper.

You can find the complete line of Happy Halloween in the YSS store! And don't forget that if you use the coupon code OCTOBER2010 through the end of October you will receive 15% off your complete order!!

Stash Faves!

There's a line of fabulous papers and embellishments made by a company called Echo Park. The line is called "a walk in the park" and I absolutely love it!! The colors are so fun and summery and the quality of the papers and sticker sheets are thick and fabulous!!

All of the papers are double-sided and the 12x12 sheets of stickers are full of adorable diecut images!! One of the sticker sheets has 4 alphas on it - what a great buy!!! (All paper images are from the Echo Park facebook site)
One of my favorite papers is the elements cards page. It contains lots of sentiments that are perfect for cardmaking. These are a few of the cards I made with that piece of paper - and many of the other beautiful items that are available with this line!

Everything that you need from this line is found in the store!! And remember, everything in the store is on sale this month - just use AUGUST2010 as the coupon code and you will receive 20% off of your complete order!! Enjoy!!
