Jennie's July Sketch

Hello!

Here's a sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches that I really loved and I hope you'll have fun with, as well!

I loved the opportunity for several photos on the layout, as that is definitely more my style. I also loved the triangle layout for the embellishments. LOTS to love here!!

Here's my take on the sketch:

I used the gorgeous and vibrant Echo Park Summer Days papers and brads, while omitting one of the photos from the design. I used my Silhouette to cut out the title (Lobster 1.4 font!) and I misted the shipping tag with Studio Calico's Mister Huey sunshine (a discontinued color, phooey!).

The die cut doily is painted with Tattered Angels glitter glam in lipstick pink. I LOVE this stuff. The color is gorgeous and the product is just FUN to use. I can't wait to try other colors!

I journaled a list onto a die-cut label with the computer and used the Echo Park Summer Days brads to highlight each item on the list. I also used the same brads as the center for the Studio Calico notion.

The final element is the Zinged! Maya Road chipboard sun. It's a simple element yet fun and bright, like the rest of the layout!

I'd love to see what you do with the sketch! Try it out and post it in the gallery!

A new sketch for you, from Sketchabilities.

Hi this is Bente!

I thought I would share a great sketch with you today, and the layout I made with it.

I was chosen a couple of weeks ago to be guest designer for the current sketch # 48 @ Sketchabilities. It is a sketch site run by Karan Gerber that has beautiful sketches and even keep an archive so you can go back and search for what takes your fancy!

I used patterned papers from the "Basic Grey" collection "Hello Luscious".
I chose a yellow and green scheme to make something that would look a little out of the ordinary. The collection has a great variety of beautiful colours. The green trim is also from the store, as well as the "Jillibean Soup" letter sticker sheet that I used.
This is the sketch. I think you can see the similarities.
I just love the little die cut shapes for photo mats.

My page is about how happy my daughter was when we visited my sister and Beatrice could say hello to her four horses. To her it was it was a little bit like heaven!!

I made a small collage so you can see some close ups too.

Thanks for looking. You are very welcome to see more on my blog:

Friday Sketch

Hello everyone!!!

Weekend is here again! Ready for some scrapping? Here's a I did sketch to inspire you jumpstart a layout!

My example:
"A+ Student" layout by LG Belarmino - Crate Paper School Spirit Collection, Shabby Chic Crafts - Vintage Scalloped Circles, Shimmerz Spritz and Kraft Cardstock all available at YSS Store

A few months ago, my daughter started attending school. She was 2years and 2 months old back then. Despite her very young age, the school administrators found her ready and appropriate for Nursery. She was interviewed and observed for a couple of days. Luckily, she passed and is now attending Nursery Level 1.

We have never thought that she will grow up this fast. She still looks like a baby but her communication skills and behavior says otherwise. She speaks in sentences already, she behaves like a 7yr old kid who knows how to follow instructions, she is very artistic and her retention skills amazes me. We are really so proud of her.

I made this layout to tell a story about how she have grown and how she became an A+ Student in our eyes.

I played with the scalloped journaling spot circles here and made it look like a flower. I just love the colors of this journaling spots. It was perfect with the School Spirit line.

Thanks for letting me share!

Happy scrapping!

She was one of the first people on my 'potential guest designer' list last year when I added this to the site.

I was thrilled when she said yes!

So how about a little challenge with the Sketch she provided this month?  A little extra challenge other than the current contests we have open?

Upload any layout or card using her sketch for a chance to win a $10 Stash Cash certificate and a prize pack from the store.

Go ahead and post a link on this post to where your idea is.  Remember, you can upload all of your challenge and contest ideas to our new User Gallery for our entire community to enjoy!
