Tuesday Tips

Today I have an easy and simple tip for you that adds that extra "something" to your projects. See the circles in the background of this layout? Here is how I made them:

First, I created the layout. Now, this is probably not the ideal order in which to do this, but if you are like me, you often get to the end of a layout and decide it needs something more. You can work with that!
Second, I die cut a bunch of circles in various sizes using my Silhouette and some Couture Cardstock. I will use the circles on another layout I have in mind.
Third, I laid the negative from the circles over my layout and sprayed it with "Old Lace" Glimmer Mist, which is a very light shade. This keeps the effect subtle. Since my layout was nearly complete, I covered the rest of it with newspaper, so my photo and embellishments wouldn't get misted.

Easy, right? I love the subtle effect and how it adds so much to my layout!

I used Pink Paislee's Cupid Collection for this layout, which is now on sale in the YSS store. Have fun misting!

Stash Fave

Welcome to Stash Fave.
I can't help drooling over Graphic 45 "Le Romantique" papers.
I love its soft pinks, light green paired with elegant black colors.
Let me show you some of the papers.

See this gorgeous pink dots.

And this is so elegant.

This pink sheet gets me all flutter up.

And any paper with butterflies sent me 'flying'. I usually grab 2 sheets.

But i dont have that many wedding pictures or romantic pictures to scrap.
Well, you dont have to use these papers only for wedding theme pictures.

Like what I did here scrapping about the connection my girl and I share.

And another tip. If the images of the wedding people or motifs dont work for you, just gesso it.
That's my fave word now. It means just brush white paint over.
Like this.

And I did this with the tags. I layered alphas over the painted areas.
I also added a metal swirl.
The possibilities are endless... you can use word stickers to cover up the motifs.
Add flowers, add chipboards... add stickers.......

I love these Graphic 45 papers' colors.
So, I work it my way! hee..hee...
You can too! Have fun!

Tuesday Tip

Hi, welcome to another Tuesday of tip sharing.
How many of you love die cut paper? I do!!! I collect different shapes and patterns.
I am so in love with them.

Today I want to share a tip where you can do double duty for your diecut papers.
Extend its mileage a little bit.

Here I place my diecut paper on a cardstock and spray with mists.

After that it will look like this.
You can use this for a layout or card by cutting along the edges.
Then what happen to my original die cut paper.. I used it for another LO.

With the shape, I created 2 cards here.
Card "Hugs"

Card "Love"

Hope you like this simple tutorial. Have fun with your die cut papers!

Pinwheels

Today I'm going to show you how to make pinwheels. I know some of you have made them before but maybe its been a while. For those of you that haven't, they are super easy and I love the dimension they add to your page.

1. Cut out a double sided sheet into a square. (I made mine about 3 inches.)

2. Draw out a criss-cross on the back of the patterned paper with a pencil. I used a Sharpie just so you could see it. Cut along the lines about halfway to the center, not all the way.

3. Fold each dotted corner into the center of the square and adhere.

4. Add a large brad or button to the center and you're done! Pretty easy, right? They make me look forward to Spring.

Supplies: American Crafts "Letterbox" collection found in the Stash gallery.

Have a happy Tuesday!
