For the supplies you'll need: chipboard pieces (the thicker the better - I used a Maya Road album); gesso; Tim Holtz clear rock candy crackle paint; mist (I used Maya mist in turquoise); paintbrush.
Paint all the pieces with a light coat of gesso and let it dry - this doesn't take long at all - maybe five minutes. It doesn't have to be covered perfectly - just try to get it even.
Next apply the clear crackle paint thickly all over the pieces and let dry completely. This will take a while - maybe 30 minutes - or you can use your heat gun to speed things up.
This is what it should look like after it's dry.
Next spray lightly with your mist.
Then take a paper towel and rub it all over your piece until it's covered to your liking.
This is how mine turned out...
And this is what it looks like after I decorated it.
You can find Maya mists in the yourscrapbookstash.com store in many different colors, so go have fun getting shabby!
