Some issues to address

I wanted to address a few issues this morning.

First, the SSL certificate for our site.  I know a number of you are wondering whats going on.  Our SSL certificate and the Domain name were up for renewal on 8/11/11.  I renewed early so there was no issue with the site.

What I learned was that renewing the SSL certificate early negates the old one.  So instead of being valid until 8/10/11, it expired immediately.  I have our web people working on this issue as we speak.  They are installing the new certificate information.  It takes up to 48 hours for it to replicate.  When you visit the home page of the store, you may receive an error stating it has expired.  While it has, you have nothing to worry about.  The Home Page, Gallery etc are all housed on a different server than the store/shopping cart. The SSL certificate for the store is maintained by our shopping cart company, Qbaroo.  So the important part of the site is safe - the shopping cart.  We hope to have the SSL certificate issue fixed by Monday at the latest.

Second, the Gallery has some issues.  I'm working on that right now.  We are installing some updates and making some changes.  Because of this, we are extending the deadline for the Scraplift Challenge until next Friday 8/5/11.  I understand some of you wanted to upload to our gallery to link it up.  We will update everyone when this issue has been resolved.  This also means the Design Team cannot upload their final projects for the month.  As soon as we get this fixed and they can upload, we'll do our usual gallery recap.

Last - the email.  I understand you are getting an 'inbox is full' message when you email us.  I am also working on this.

Please let me know if you have any questions about any of this.

Friday Sketch Day!

Hello Ladies, and welcome to my very first post for Your Scrapbook Stash!
I'm super excited to share the sketch I created this week, along with a cute layout of my nephew.

I find myself continuously making layouts with two photos, so I thought I would step out of my "scrappy" box and make a sketch for three photos! Maybe three photos isn't the biggest leap out of my box, but it's a baby step :)

I used lots of goodies from my kit this month, and had fun mixing and matching manufacturers.
Supplies Used:
Pink Paislee: Patterned Paper, Cardstock Alpha Sticker
Sassafrass Lass: Patterned Paper
October Afternoon: Cardstock Stickers, Buttons, Alpha Sticker, Flashcard
Crate Paper: Chipboard Shapes
Jillibean Soup:Corrugated Alphas (love 'em), Corrugated Banner
Bella Blvd: Number Sticker
Studio Calico: Alpha Stickers
Other: Twine
I'm looking forward to seeing your projects inspired by my very first sketch!
Don't forget to drop by the gallery and upload your creation :)

Thanks so much for joining me this week

XO Kristin

New Arrivals and Pre-Orders

New arrivals this week:

KI Memories Glitter stickers - we have a restock of their past designs AND new designs.
October Afternoon - the long awaited Boarding Pass line will arrive on Friday.  All Pre-orders will ship out Saturday.
SMASH books and accessories - Our SMASH order arrived in the warehouse today.  We have it all sorted and ready to begin shipping tomorrow.  We will have everything shipped out Wednesday and Thursday.  If you pre-ordered these items, they will ship to you this week.  Any current orders for the products will ship Friday or later.
Echo Park Victoria Gardens - In stock and shipping now!
Pink Paislee Mistables - In stock and ready to ship
Epiphany Crafts buttons tools and buttons - in stock and ready to ship!

Its time for all of the new product to ship.  To make it easier for us to handle the volume of orders that come in, we've gone the pre-order route again.  Pre-Orders will show up in the store 2-3 weeks before a line is shipping.  This gives us a chance to add to our orders should something sell out.  A lot of times, a manufacturer only orders so much of a product.  When its gone, its gone.

How we handle Pre-Orders

When you place an order with us that includes Pre-Order items, we process it.  You will receive an email from the system letting you know the order was processed but not shipped (there will be no shipping information in the email, but it will state Other/Pre-Order).  When the items come into the warehouse, we pull all pre-orders first and ship them out.  When we print a shipping label through USPS.com, you will receive an email from them with tracking information.  You can always email us for updates but we try to keep everyone informed here on the blog and on Facebook.  If an item still says 'Pre-Order' in the system, we have not received it yet.  In some instances, items are very popular and we need to enter them into the system a little earlier.  For example, Studio Calico.  Anyone who has ordered their product will receive a notice that their items have shipped.  We will not receive their product until late August/early September.  These items will sell out quickly.  In the event an item does not ship to us, we will hold on to your order until the item is received.  If an order requires us to ship in two shipments, we cover the extra shipping fees as a courtesy to you.  We guarantee your product or a refund if we cannot get that product in stock.
Because of certain credit card rules, we cannot hold on to an order past a certain date without penalties.  This is why we process your order prior to the product coming in.

Store blog (you are here)

For today's giveaway, leave a comment telling us your favorite release from the Summer Show last week.  We'll draw a winner on Friday!  Happy Hopping!

P.S. Our Facebook Page will have giveaways too.  :)

Creating a textured background with wrapping tissue and Glimmer Glam!

Sometimes the only way to get the background you want is to create it yourself. I wanted to play with these fabulous Webster's Pages papers and trims and this sweet photo of my friend Maggi's new baby.

I wanted to "glam" up the background with a little Glimmer Glam Nightfall so I created a little texture on the cardstock.

Apply a little wet adhesive to the cardstock.

 Scrunch and adhere wrapping tissue.

When it dries, you get this awesome texture.

Add a layer of gesso. The gesso serves as a primer for any colorants you want to add to the surface.

I added some blue and green distress inks to match the colours on my patterned papers.

Paint on the Glimmer Glam for a really cool and glittered textured base.

And here is my layout! :)

We're at it again

Time for more markdowns.  I spent a day reorganizing the warehouse yesterday because of the list of new products that will be here in a few short weeks.  In fact, they have already started shipping!  I'll be back later in the week to give you a full rundown.  For now, you can check out the store to see what we've added for pre-sale.  These are the lines we expect in the next few weeks.  I have a few more to add but I'm waiting on images.

You can find all of your favorite items in the SALE and Final Clearance section now including lines from:

WRMK
Maya Road
Cosmo Cricket
Elle's Studio MME
Studio Calico
Basic grey
Bella Blvd
Glitz Designs
Websters Pages
Echo Park
Pink Paislee
And more!  All items are 25%-75% off in these sections.  Don't forget to use your July coupon code during checkout to save 20%.  Thats an additional 20% off all sale prices and 20% off all NEW items in the shop.  Yes, you can use the code on Pre-Orders too!  Save 20% off Pre-Order items.   (All other promotions apply this month.)

You'll want to make sure you hit the blog up first thing tomorrow morning since thats the start of the BLOG HOP!

Thats right.  We're hopping this week.  I'll post more details tomorrow.  We have giveaways and all kinds of fun planned.  Make sure you're checking out Facebook too.  We have a few giveaways for you.

AND a contest!  This is a quick one.  No long deadlines.  Your mission, should you chose to accept it.....

Scraplift one of the new Stash Girls.  Find their galleries here.  You can be inspired by colors or design.  Since this is their first month with us, you only have a few layouts to chose from - who's up for a challenge?

Its simple.  Link us up to your creation and mention who you lifted and the name of their layout.  I've added the Mister Linky again to see if that makes it easier to leave a link.  You can use either Mister Linky OR leave a comment in the comments section with a link to your creation.

If you do not have a blog or place to upload, remember we have a User Gallery for you to upload to.  You can link us up that way.

Deadline is next Monday August 1st.  That gives you a week to get it done.  We'll choose 2 winners from the batch.

Good luck!

Jennie's July Sketch

Hello!

Here's a sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches that I really loved and I hope you'll have fun with, as well!

I loved the opportunity for several photos on the layout, as that is definitely more my style. I also loved the triangle layout for the embellishments. LOTS to love here!!

Here's my take on the sketch:

I used the gorgeous and vibrant Echo Park Summer Days papers and brads, while omitting one of the photos from the design. I used my Silhouette to cut out the title (Lobster 1.4 font!) and I misted the shipping tag with Studio Calico's Mister Huey sunshine (a discontinued color, phooey!).

The die cut doily is painted with Tattered Angels glitter glam in lipstick pink. I LOVE this stuff. The color is gorgeous and the product is just FUN to use. I can't wait to try other colors!

I journaled a list onto a die-cut label with the computer and used the Echo Park Summer Days brads to highlight each item on the list. I also used the same brads as the center for the Studio Calico notion.

The final element is the Zinged! Maya Road chipboard sun. It's a simple element yet fun and bright, like the rest of the layout!

I'd love to see what you do with the sketch! Try it out and post it in the gallery!

To Do Book - Stash Faves

How many of us have a tough time remembering the many things we have to accomplish for the week (or even for the day for that matter *lol*)? I know I do! So here's a lil something I came up with for my YSS DT Assignment which also happens to be based on my all time fav products to date! ;)

A simple tute to guide you through how it was made:

1) Paint a raw cardboard / cereal box cardboard black
2) Dab some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze and Glimmer Glam on it using a cotton ball at random spots
3) Die cut the middle for a frame / window
3) Adhere some fussy cut flowers and image from October Afternoon 5 & Dime - Lemon Drops, Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends - Trinkets patterned papers
4) Adhere die cut sticker from October Afternoon 5 & Dime - Shape Stickers
5) Adhere chipboard by Crate Paper Portrait - Chipboard Embellishments
6) Bind the book togther using binding rings

Easy peasy rite? :)

Materials Used :
Chipboard: Craft Supply, Die : Tim Holtz Baroque & Movers & Shapers Die
Flower: Handmade with patterned paper scraps

Here are the stash faves of mine that I used for this project:

Patterned Paper: October Afternoon 5 & Dime - Lemon Drops, Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends - Trinkets

Die Cut Stickers: October Afternoon 5 & Dime - Shape Stickers

Chipboard: Crate Paper Portrait - Chipboard Embellishments

Glimmer: Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam - Pixie Dust & Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze - Champagne

What a Wonderful Wednesday!

We are just back from our too short but amazing vacation.  I am rested up and ready to get back to work.  Is it wrong to admit I missed the shop?  I had limited internet access on this trip and it was nice to disconnect for a few days but I realize I'm an internet addict.  I could be found standing in the middle of the Canadian Rockies with my iPad searching for the tiniest bit of a signal.  And I may have paid $4.99 for a half hour of internet last Friday so I could place some CHA orders online in a tiny internet cafe in Banff.

You can see all of my adventures on my personal blog.

Back to the updates!  (This is going to be one of those posts where I update throughout the week so keep an eye on it.)

First, the products that came in while we were gone:

Echo Park Victoria Gardens

Pink Paislee Mistables
Authentique Papers
Epiphany Crafts Tools and buttons

Pre-Order Updates:
October Afternoon - we were told the line was shipping late last week but as of today we have received nothing.  Since the company is at CHA we will not have an update until they return.  I am hoping to have them ship this line as soon as they get back.  For anyone with a pre-order for this line, your orders will ship out as soon as the product comes in.

SMASH books - EK Success left me a message while we were gone stating that the orders have not shipped yet.  They are waiting on a few of the Folios to come in before they ship the orders complete.  This is for ALL orders for ALL stores.  We will update everyone as soon as we know when they are shipping and when we'll receive them.

CHA New Releases:  (This is where you need to watch for updates  ;) .......)

We know everyone is eager to pre-order a lot of the more popular lines.  We will be preparing the Pre-Order section this week and will begin adding lines that will be shipping in the next few weeks.  This will give you an idea of whats coming.

We've had a LOT of requests for the new Studio Calico lines.  These are not scheduled to ship until late August/early September.  Due to the demand, we will put these lines up for pre-order this week but please note they will not ship for another month.  We will process the orders for these lines like we always do.

So what can you expect to see this week in the pre-order section?
KI Memories - new Glitter Stickers, restock of the last release and new keepsake pockets....

Pink Paislee - 3 new lines (Nantucket, Vintage Vogue and Phantom)

Basic Grey Nordic Holiday

Jenni Bowlin

Cosmo Cricket Clementine
Cosmo Cricket Dear Mr. Claus

Echo Park Happy Days

Fancy Pants

Lily Bee (added to the pre-order section on 7/20/11)

Studio Calico

All of these lines are due to ship within the next couple of weeks.  As we confirm ship dates this week, more lines may be added so keep an eye on this post.

In other news......

We have a Blog Hop coming next week!  Prizes and other fun stuff going on so check back next Monday for a preview.

We'll also have a contest going next week so be ready to scrap and use your 'stash'.

When placing orders, please don't forget to enter your coupon code.  This months code is JULY20 and saves you 20% off your entire order!

Happy Stashing!
