Owner Update

As some of you might have heard, this show was much smaller than the previous 2 years. Chicago is normally this small. The Anaheim show is always the big one. Not so much this year. There were some big names missing - October Afternoon, Scenic Route, Collage Press and a few others. Don't worry - we did request catalogs and order forms from them.

I've been so busy trying to fill orders (til the wee hours of the morning) and get the photos edited, resized and uploaded to the CHA Gallery. I added a few more this morning. Almost done! Its always such a blur running from booth to booth and now I get to sit back and remember all the great things we ordered or are going to order.
Its great to see how different products from different manufacturers will fit together. Colors, patterns, themes.
Again, lots of animals. Butterflies and circus animals.

I had to take my son with me this week since I have no one to stay home with him. But he was excellent. We had to carry him (Convention Center rules) and no strollers were allowed. But they didn't say anything about rolling totes......

He had his picture taken at least a dozen times. I've seen it on various websites and blogs already.
And the new products are already rolling in. Making Memories new Spring line - Flower Patch is here. They have new acetate pages which look like a lot of fun. They are thin enough to be cut by any diecut machine (like the Slice) or with punches. And this line of papers does not disappoint. Lots of fun patterns perfect for Spring and Easter, embellishments that will wow you too. The cutest metal butterfly charms. So cute.

{ETA} We just received our shipment of new Technique Tuesday stamps. Get 'em while they're HOT! New Ali Edwards designs, page kits and more! All in the new section. Spend $35.00 or more on any Technique Tuesday stamps and get a free collector set designed by Ali. Picture coming soon.

Speaking of MM, we almost won a Slice. My mom wore her Slice apron and we finally got our pictures taken. MM had a wall of pictures and then every hour, they would pull a photo off the wall and that person would win a Slice. I thought that cute face would win us a Slice - but it didn't.

And it doesn't stop there. More new products are due in during February. In fact, EVERYTHING we bought was shipping in February so we changed some of our orders to make sure you get something fresh and new each month. Look at this stack of catalogs to go through and file!
Don't forget today is the last day to upload your layouts and cards to the Sketch Gallery. You can see some of the stuff you'll be winning in the Giveaway Gallery - yes, thats just SOME of the stuff we brought home from CHA. We have the entire new collection (all 4 lines) from Basic Grey. They haven't even shipped yet - but you can win them. Just keep an eye out on the contests this month. I promise you won't be disappointed. And the Valentines Contest runs through 2/14 so you still have lots of time for that one.

Orders - we are working our rears off to get everything pulled and shipped no later than this Sunday which means the last of the boxes should go out Monday morning. We are filling them in the order they were received. If you have any questions about your order, please email us at admin@yourscrapbookstash.com

Also, if you want to order the new MM Flower Patch and your order has not shipped, we can combine them for cheaper or free shipping. Just send us an email or make a note of it in your order.

Design Team Gallery - these poor girls have been neglected by me this month. They've been uploading so many great things and I'm just now seeing them. Between CHA and the Birthday Bash - its been one crazy time around here. So look for a gallery recap from me this weekend.

Post a comment on this post for a chance to win a little something from us. This is the last comment giveaway of the week. I'll draw names and announce them tomorrow. And I noticed that a lot of you had questions or comments for us so we'll be going through those and doing a Q&A kind of thing.

I'll be back with more from CHA, but for now, I leave you with a link to the CHA Gallery. Enjoy all the new stuff and inspiration. Its all coming soon!

Lots to discuss

And not enough time to do it!

We're back from the show. Our feet hurt, our backs ache from pulling heavy carts for 4 days but it was all worth it just to get a glimpse up close of all the new stuff.

Don't forget to upload your layout or card to the Sketch gallery. You have until midnight tomorrow.
I'll be back with more later. I'm editing photos and filling orders at the same time!

{ETA} want to see what you can win? Check out the Giveaway gallery for a few pictures of the goodies we came home with. And how do you win? Upload a card or layout using Carries Sketch before midnight 1/29/09. You can win new Pink Paislee, Basic Grey and a few other new lines BEFORE they are shipped to stores.

This is not the thread you want to leave comments on. I will have another post on Thursday and thats the one you want to leave comments on to win a little something from us.

New lovelies at CHA

Have you been down to CHA yet ? Lucky you to be able to see all the gorgeous things in person but if like me, you are unable to make it there, here are some pictures of a few things that I'm loving from CHA.

1. The Easy BradMaker™ from Chatterbox

I'm loving the idea of making my own brads. It looks so simple and those brads are gorgeous.

2. Bungle jungle line and felties from Sassafras Lass
Are those little creatures cute ? They look really cute on a little boy layout !

Who deoesn't love these felt creatures ? These felties have lots of details and would look nice even on hats and bags.

3. Mommy and me collection by Prima

I'm a stamp collector (LOL) and this owl with an eye patch is just too cute to resist !
Here's another cute little thing from Prima - mini pebbles. They are shiny bubble-like embellishments that coordinate with their new paper lines.

Alright, I think that's more than enough of cute stuff for one day. Don't forget to leave a comment here for a chance at winning a little something from us. Go read the DT member posts each day on the blog and post your comments for more chances to win. We'll draw winners on Thursday.

A gentle reminder :
1. The Sale continues until midnight Thursday so you still have time to save! Enter code CHA20 during checkout to save!

2. There are 2 contest running right now - Valentine's Contest and Carrie's Sketch Challenge - Join in the fun and win some CHA's goodies !

Business to take care of

So lets get to it and then we can have fun!

We've had a lot of people ask us if we'll be carrying the Slice, its accessories or the Design Cards. Right now, we will not be carrying the Slice. However, if you want to special order one, we will do it for you. There is an option in the store under Making Memories/Slice to place a pre-order for the machine. You will pay $74.99 up front and we will order the machine. The other $74.99 is due when the machine arrives and we are ready to ship it out to you. We can have the machine in our hands in 5-7 business days. We can also order the Design Cards for you. Please email me at admin@yourscrapbookstash.com and I can order the cards you want. It will be the same system for the cards, half now and half when the card arrives. (The good news is, the Slice payments are eligible for any sales or specials we have running i.e. Free Shipping, Stash Cash promotions etc).

Ribbon RAK winners - I heard from one of the two winners on my blog so I had to redraw names. Two new winners are announced on my blog. Two? I have enough ribbon to spread some more love around. Email me if you're the winner!

January promotions - these are always listed on the sidebar. I update them each month (or whenever there is a new promotion). This month, for all orders over $50.00 you receive free shipping (US orders only) and $5.00 in Stash Cash.

I just sent out emails with Stash Cash codes - enjoy these when you place your next order!
CHA - Its that time of year again. This week, we've seen more Sneak Peeks from more manufacturers. We'll be back on Thursday or Friday to recap the rest of the Sneaks. If you're anxious, you can always check out the Manufacturer blogs on our sidebar. We'll be updating those links during CHA. October Afternoon has a new blog - YEAH - so we'll be updating that as well as Dream Street and adding a few new ones!

CHA also means that its time for the biggest markdown of the year. Normally I like to announce the new sale items on 'Markdown Monday's' but this was so huge, it took me an extra day to get the items marked down! Almost every item in the store is on sale! Only the newest products are excluded. So hurry over to the SALE section of the store! A lot of items are very low in stock so if you have your eye on something - get it now!

Product marked down to 25% for the first time.
Items that were 25% off are now 40-50% off
Items that were 50% off are now 60% off (WOW!)

Reorders - we sold out of a lot of things last week during the Birthday Bash sale. Looking for some of the new items? Our restock should be here any day now!

And now the real fun - A Sketch Challenge.

During CHA, each of our Design Team members will be taking a day to discuss their favorite new products, issue challenges, highlight techniques etc. While I'm working the show floor to bring you pictures and videos of the latest and greatest, you have a chance to play along.
The party starts Saturday with Carrie and ends Thursday with me! I wanted to give some of you a head start on this (with the weekend coming up and all).

Carrie designed the cutest sketch and we want to see what you can do with it! There is a gallery ready and waiting for your layouts using this sketch. There are no limits to this. You can make a layout (any size), use it in any direction (horizontal or vertical) or as a card! Its pretty versatile!
Of course, what would a sketch challenge be without a prize? What can you win? How about some Stash Cash and freebies from CHA!

To get you thinking about it, here is the sketch:

And what Carrie did with it:

Birthday Bash Wrapup

I tried to shorten this post a little by putting the winners and other information in posts below. So a lot of this post is going to be links to other posts and the website.

First off, winners of the blog posting comments this week can be found on this post. If you won, please send me an email.

Each day, Mandy issued a challenge or contest. The winner of the Scavenger Hunt is Felicia. Mandy sent you an email to get your address.
There were also some Scraplifting and the Holiday Paper on Non-Holiday Layouts/Cards challenge. The deadlines for these have been extended until January 24th to give people more time to work on them. Please email your layout/card to Mandy (mandy_koeppen@hotmail.com) before the deadline to be considered. We'll pick one winner for each of these challenges and post them during CHA week.
The 'Use Your Stash' Challenge is already set to end on the 24th. Please email those to Mandy as well.
CHA week schedule will be posted soon. Look for special posts and sketch challenges from our talented Design Team. More on that next week.......

Ribbon RAK winners on my blog. Please check my blog to see if you won. So Sylv and Marielle - email me at admin@yourscrapbookstash.com to claim your ribbon. You have until Monday night to claim it. If not, it goes to two other lucky ladies!!
The Stash loves Elles Studio. In fact, we supported Elle way before she opened up her own site and we continue to love everything to comes up with. Her latest release is no different. In fact, some of her new items sold out in less than a week here! (Yes, there is a reorder on its way!) BUT, we wanted to let you know that she's running a special Valentines week on her blog using a lot of her new Valentines Products. Are you ready for some cool inspiration?
Last but not least - the Gallery Winners - YEAH!
I love the unconventional look of this card by Melissa. The pom-pom ribbon is always so cute! Great use of the October Afternoon papers.

And check out this cool block layout by Anna. She used the fabulous Crate Paper Mia line. Don't these colors just melt your heart?

Congrats Anna and Melissa. Your work will be featured on the site during the month of February. Please email me at admin@yourscrapbookstash.com to claim your prizes.

Random Draw Winners

Each day (Monday-Friday) you had the chance to post comments on each of Mandys Post for a chance to win a random prize from YSS.com

So, did you win?

Now to the challenge for the day. With CHA coming in only a week and a few days. I thought this would be the perfect time to start weeding out that stash of yours and mine to make room for some new goodies. Today's challenge is to create a layout with your current stash use as much as you can or as little as long as its from your stash.Awhile back I did a challenge where you took a word like STASH and you had to use a different product for each letter example:s-7 Gypsies,T-transparency,A-Autumn Leaves,s-stamps,h-Heidi Swapp. Or you could challenge yourself with the amount of product used like say 7 different products or 5 different products. Totally up to you just some ideas. As always have fun! You have until Saturday January 24th to complete this challenge.
Here is what i came up with 4 layouts and 2 cards. To be honest everything I posted this week used items from my stash most were older products I needed to use and a few were newer that just needed to be used too.

Don't forget to post a comment today is our last daily giveaway. It's been a blast!!
Have a great day~Mandy
